Description:
Among the defining conflicts in the history of the United States, the Revolutionary War touched the lives of millions of people. This database is a collection of records kept by the National Archives listing men who fought for the colonies during the war. Transferred from microfilm to electronic format by Direct Data Capture, it contains the names of nearly 426,000 individuals. Each record provides the soldier's name, company and unit of service. Additionally, rank information is included along with box and roll numbers in the National Archives to aid the researcher in obtaining copies of the original record.
